A Message from The Chairman:

The Fella's Open to me is a tournament above all tournaments because it is a time that we all set aside to play golf and laugh until it hurts.  The core group of individuals have known each other for 25 + years and in some cases 30+ years.  It is rare to have friends that have shared so many experiences - college, high school and even elementary school.  We knew each other before girl friends, spouses, careers and even children.  Not necessarily in that order.  We have grown older, out of shape (although Pear is a shape) and thinner on top but we have never lost the bond of 94618.  Oakland is where most of us grew up and/or became friends.  The tournament once a year allows us to put aside work, families and other demands to re-connect as buddies and just be the boys for 4 days of fun.  This tournament is the only time we get to see some of the boys who have moved away.  Each year we manage to outdo ourselves and have even more fun than the year before.  As the organizer, I only have to provide the setting and some logistics and the members make the tournament a success.  The older I get, the more I realize this tournament is so special because of the people who are in it and the bond that we share.
